What are HFC refrigerants?

HFC (hydrofluorocarbons) are the new refrigerants which replaced the previously used Freon refrigerants. The most commonly used HFCs within the group of hydreflourcabons is HFC R-134a and HFC R-404A. The former is used to foam up PU-insulation and as refrigerant in refrigerators and cold rooms. The latter is used as refrigerant in freezers and freezer rooms.
